Our Story
See what Hopestreet is all about

Hopestreet started in a carpark in Davoren Park in 2015. What began as a small group of caring people meeting young people where they were at has grown into a movement — touching hundreds of lives every week through safe spaces, real relationships, and genuine community.

What We Do
Programs built on real relationships.

Every week we create spaces where young people know they are safe, known, and valued. Each program is designed to meet young people where they are and walk with them toward something better.

Our Story
Started in a carpark.
Now changing lives.

In 2015, founder Bekk Shaw and a small team began meeting young people gathering in the car park of a local Davoren Park church. What started as a youth ministry grew into something remarkable — a grassroots movement rooted in relationship, faith, and a deep belief that every young person has purpose and worth.

Operating under CareWorks since 2020, Hopestreet now runs multiple programs across Playford, touching hundreds of lives each week through a passionate community of volunteers who show up because they genuinely care.

Davoren Park and surrounding suburbs have a youth unemployment rate of 61% — eight times higher than the Adelaide average. Two thirds of young people in our area don't complete Year 12. Despite these challenges, Hopestreet focuses relentlessly on building resilience, hope, and a sense of belonging.
